The Templates menu allows loading and running Binary Templates (see Introduction to Templates and Scripts). This section lists all available menu options in the Templates menu:
- Open Template - Opens a file dialog box to load a Binary Template (usually with file extension ".bt").
- Edit Template - Displays the current template in the Code Editor for editing (see Using the Code Editor for more information).
- Run Template - Runs the opened template on the current file. The results are displayed either in the Template Results panel below the current Hex Editor Window, or in the Template tab of the Inspector (see Working with Template Results for more information). If an error occurs, the Template will be shown in the Code Editor.
- (Custom Template List) - Displays a list of custom templates, such as 'BMP Template', 'ZIP Template', and 'WAV Template'. Click an item on the list to load the template into memory and (optionally) execute the template. Templates can be added to the list by clicking the 'Edit Template List' menu option. Note that templates can be configured to load automatically based on the opened file type (see Template Options for more information).
- Edit Template List - Displays the Template Options (see Template Options) dialog that can be used to add templates to the Custom Template List for easy access.
- Online Template Repository - Visits the online template archive at 'http://www.sweetscape.com/010editor/templates/'. This archive allows uploading templates you have created, or downloading templates that other people have created. Please feel free to upload any templates that other people may find useful.
