When you purchase 010 Editor, you receive free upgrades for a
period of 1 year from the date of purchase. We currently have three
types of releases:
- Major Releases - e.g. Version 3 -> 4 -> 5, etc. (Includes major changes to the interface and new functionality)
- Minor Releases - e.g. Version 3.0 -> 3.1 -> 3.2, etc. (Includes minor changes to the interface and some new functionality)
- Revision Releases - e.g. Version 3.0.1 -> 3.0.2 -> 3.0.3, etc. (Includes mostly bug fixes and perhaps a few very minor changes)
Upgrading to a new major release or minor release is free if you purchased
within one year; however, if you purchased your license longer than one year ago,
you will have to pay an upgrade fee to upgrade to the new major or minor
release. Once you pay an upgrade fee, that entitles you to another year of
free upgrades from the new date of purchase. To purchase an upgrade, please
visit our store and click the Purchase button to
the right of '010 Editor Upgrade/Maintenance'.
Upgrading to a new revision release works slightly different. If you have
access to run a certain version e.g. 3.0.4 and a new revision release 3.0.5 is
issued, you may upgrade to the new revision even if it has been more than a year
since you purchased. Basically, to increase the last digit of your version (3.0.5 -> 3.0.6)
is free, but increasing the first or second digit of your version requires
either a free upgrade (within one year of purchase) or an upgrade fee.
